The Mercedes M139 intake manifold for the A45 and CLA45 is designed to allow the turbo to flow more smoothly. By redesigning the system to allow a much more direct path, the turbo is able to generate boost with less drag and therefore reach the target boost earlier in the rev range. This intake system is designed to provide the highest flow rate possible whilst maintaining the lowest intake temperatures for a net power gain. The de-throttled flow path also allows for more noticeable spooling of the turbo, adding to the dynamics of the overall driving experience.
The Eventuri Difference
The Mercedes M139 Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fiber housing which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo. It is not another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo.
test bench test
Our M139 intake was independently tested by a Mercedes specialist tuner in the UK - MSL Performance. Multiple runs were made with the OEM airbox to get a repeatable result and then again with the Eventuri intake. The tests were carried out back to back on the same day. The results show an increase in torque and power across the entire rev range - not just at peak revs, which is why the car feels more responsive and can accelerate through the gears quicker.
The Eventuri A45/CLA45 intake system consists of a number of components designed for a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. We use 100% pre-pregnated carbon fibre with no glass fibre, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to give a more consistent airflow.
