Description
The latest product development from Eventuri in England has the BMW E39 M5 in its sights. The intake for the BMW E39 is intended as a complete solution and replaces the OWM airbox system. The goal of building an intake system for the M5 that works with the OEM ECU map and MAF sensors is achieved through two components. The square OEM airbox housing is replaced by the patented Eventuri housing, which, as in all Eventuri intakes, guarantees a laminar, even air flow without resistance. In addition, the two scoops that are integrated into the fog lights in this intake system ensure a real cold air flow.
The difference to the OEM system is immediately noticeable for every M5 driver. The efficiency of the air supply is achieved through the patented Venturi technology in the filter housings. Equipped with the new GEN2 filters, the air flow is bundled and passed on in a straight line, shielded from the engine heat without major friction losses.
On the test bench, the system shows not only improved responsiveness but also the usual awesome intake sound and promises a power increase of up to 8 hp.

The patented Eventuri filter housing
Even at first glance, the Eventuri intake looks very different to many other aftermarket intakes. Unlike most intakes that use the same cone filter/pipe/heat shield configuration, the Eventuri design is fundamentally different and has been patented. On the street, this means more power with a smoother delivery as well as sharper throttle response as the airflow is not inhibited by abrupt geometry changes and therefore remains more laminar. The diagram below shows an Eventuri intake system with a reverse mounted filter in an Eventuri housing. The large velocity stack area is highlighted in yellow.
