Audi A1 8X electrically folding mirrors retrofit package

Significantly upgrade your Audi A1 8X with the original electrically folding exterior mirrors.

Here we supply you with the retrofit package for installing the original folding mirrors - suitable for your AUDI A1 8X.

It is operated via the new switch position in the driver's door and via the new menu item in your MMI multimedia system in which you can set whether the mirrors should fold in automatically when you lock your AUDI A1 8X. As installed at the factory.

After briefly plugging it into the very easily accessible OBD diagnostic interface in the driver's footwell, the KECODI coding interface supplied here uses the innovative KECODI that is already preset for you to completely automatically activate the automatically folding vehicle mirrors.

The retrofitting of the original automatically / electrically folding exterior mirrors is possible on all AUDI A1 / S1 8X models of all body styles (3-door, 5-door), all years of manufacture (pre-facelift / facelift) and all equipment variants.

Please check whether the currently installed door control units are capable of the Highline equipment of the electrically folding exterior mirrors (experience shows that around 50% of these are NOT capable and must be replaced). You can check this by reading the part numbers with a diagnostic system or by reading them directly from the door control unit.

If the current door control units are NOT capable, you can order them under item number 16393.

Insofar as mirror heating is not currently installed, we recommend the retrofit package automatically folding + heated exterior mirrors with our article number: 16392

Installation information:

The existing painted mirror housings and the mirror glasses are individual components - these are dismantled and mounted on the new electrically folding mirrors - so they DO NOT need to be replaced.

The cover around the current mirror rotation switch will be replaced because you will later have one more position which can be selected with the rotation switch supplied here.

No further wiring work is necessary - the new mirrors are simply plugged into the door control unit inside the door.
